WHAT IS THE WARRANT TEAM?
The Warrant Team is comprised of men and women within the Law Enforcement Community.
Their purpose is to bring about closure to existing warrants that have been issued by the Court.
A warrant is a written authorization from a Judge or Magistrate allowing the police, court, and warrant officers to arrest a person or persons for a specified offense.
The 28th District Court Warrant Team will attempt to contact the person named in the warrant. All attempts will be made to resolve the matter by posting of bonds, taking of payments of fines and costs or by making payment arrangements.
If none of the above can be accomplished, then the person(s) named can be arrested at any time or place.
Prevention against having a warrant issued against you is simple. First and foremost, don't violate any laws. Always obey all orders from the court. Pay all fines and costs on time. And if you are on probation, don't violate any conditions ordered by the Court!
